Trial & Placement Opportunities for 2026-2027 – Summer trial classes have concluded.
Families interested in 2026-2027 enrollment are invited to attend our Back to School Event on Saturday, August 29th at either campus. Eligible student may participate in a trial class or placement class before registering.
For age-based classes, the class level is determined by age as of August 31st, 2026:
Dance with Me: Age 2
Creative Movement 1: Age 3
Creative Movement 2: Age 4
Fundamentals of Dance: Age 5
Pre Ballet 1: Age 6
Pre Ballet 2: Age 7
If you are unable to join us for the Back to School Event, regular trial and placement classes will continue after September 8, 2026 once Academy classes are back in session.
New students age 8 and up will need to take a placement class to be eligible to enroll in Academy classes.
Students in age-based classes must be that age by August 31 (firm age cut-off date).

Additional Classes Open for Registration
The classes below may be taken independently and are not part of a student’s required Academy level schedule. Students do not need to be enrolled in ballet classes at KCBS to register for these classes.
These classes run on independent semesters. While students may register for Fall only, Spring only, or both semesters, we encourage families to enroll for the full year. Students who participate in both semesters will have the opportunity to perform in our end-of-year showcase or performance alongside other Academy classes and will benefit from the continuity of instruction and choreography throughout the year.

Children’s Jazz (Ages 5–7)
An introductory jazz class for young dancers focused on basic jazz movement, coordination, musicality, and classroom skills.
Jazz 1 (Ages 8–12)
A beginning jazz class introducing foundational jazz technique, movement quality, and musicality for students ready to expand their dance training beyond ballet.
West African 1 (Ages 8-12)
An introductory class exploring basic West African dance movement, rhythm, and musicality in a fun setting.
PLEASE READ
All students are required to pay a registration fee per program upon enrollment. Enrollment is processed on a first-come, first-served basis until classes reach capacity. Kansas City Ballet School reserves the right to adjust schedules, faculty, studio assignments, or cancel classes due to under-enrollment or operational needs.
Tuition represents a seasonal commitment for the school year and may be paid in full or through an installment plan. Installment plans are offered as a convenience and do not represent month-to-month enrollment. All tuition balances must be paid in full by April 5.
Breaks and holidays are built into the tuition structure; therefore, installment amounts remain consistent throughout the school year.
