Level 1 is the first level of academic ballet training in Kansas City Ballet School. Upon entering this level students are expected to have a respect for the classroom and learning process.
Dancers will be introduced to elementary ballet steps both at the barre and center. Stretching, coordination, strength building, and musicality will be major components in the students dance education. All students are required to bring a ballet notebook to class to notate ballet terminology and practice exercises for homework. Students are responsible for information presented in class in addition to practicing independently outside of the classroom. Level 1 students will take part in evaluation classes in the spring semester to determine their placement for the following year.
This class meets twice a week in-studio for 60 minutes. Please select the section that fits your family’s schedule.
