What is DANCEFIX?
Class Length: 1 Hour
Intensity: High
Founded by Heather Britt, a professional dancer, and choreographer from Cincinnati, Ohio, DANCEFIX is a high-energy, adult dance workout class featuring original, diverse choreography by Heather and HBDC teachers.
From hip-hop to jazz, Latin to lyrical, the choreography is fresh and fun for both new and experienced dancers. Each hour-long class consists of a short warmup, 10 dances that increase in cardio intensity, and a toning session. Each week students learn new choreography while continuing to work on 9 other dances.
The mission of DANCEFIX is to create health, happiness, and connection to self and community through dance. DANCEFIX students frequently participate in flash mobs and other special events to support arts, cultural and social causes in the Kansas City area.

New to DANCEFIX?
In DANCEFIX we celebrate our diversity! So whether you have had dance or not, no matter your age, no matter your fitness level, we work hard to make DANCEFIX your movement home and to provide a supportive and encouraging environment. It is also important to us that our students remain engaged and inspired over time. DANCEFIX is a joyous and challenging workout with changing choreography. This can feel overwhelming to some at the beginning, especially if you are limited in the amount of times you can attend each week.
Believe it or not, every person you see in a DANCEFIX class starts out not knowing a single step. Repetition will get you there. We promise. We recommend finding a spot towards the middle of the room, close to the side. Work on getting the direction of the movement first, once you have that, try adding the footwork, followed by the arms. The more you come, the faster you catch on to the choreography. We recommend attending 3 times per week when you are beginning, allowing your muscle memory to do its thing. You will want to bring a mat and a water bottle. Most students wear some athletic sneakers although a few of our students prefer dancing barefoot or in jazz shoes or dance sneakers.
