Join the Guild and enjoy fun opportunities with a community of dance enthusiasts!
The Kansas City Ballet Guild is a group of 170+ members who serve as advocates for dance and ballet in the Kansas City community. We provide financial assistance to the Kansas City Ballet through the Nutcracker Boutique, the Annual Ball, and other special events.
Kansas City Ballet has always relied upon the Guild’s membership’s generosity and commitment to the arts in Kansas City – but in these uncertain times donations will be critical. Please join the Guild during this crucial year of fundraising as we work together, “ in-person” or “virtually”, to support Kansas City Ballet!
- $50 Guild Member
- $150 Guild Relevé Member
While Member dues allow us to conduct Guild business, Relevé dues allow us to also sponsor dancer attendance at Guild events and provide holiday gifts for the dancers. Please consider the Relevé option when joining.
Guild members enjoy special presentations from guest choreographers, stagers, musicians, dancers, and the wonderful Kansas City Ballet staff. Presentations include educational programs on what it takes to operate a 21st century dance organization, exclusive “behind the scenes” looks at upcoming performances, and access to special pre-performance “open rehearsals.” We meet and socialize via monthly general membership meetings, three fabulous annual luncheons (Fall Kick Off, Nutcracker and Spring Celebration) and at special events such as cast parties, book clubs, and movie nights. We also support and maintain the Kansas City Ballet Archives. And of course, all members are encouraged to be Kansas City Ballet season subscribers and to attend the annual Guild Ballet Ball.
The Guild sponsors two major fundraising events for the Kansas City Ballet each season – an annual Ballet Ball and a Gift Boutique at the Kauffman Center. Last year, these events collectively raised $325,000 for the Kansas City Ballet.
GUILD NUTCRACKER BALL
Patrons celebrated the holiday season at the Kansas City Ballet Guild’s 53rd annual gala, the Nutcracker Ball, on November 21, 2020. This Nutcracker Ball was a mixed media event that combined an online broadcast and small individual dinner parties. Information about the 2021 Ballet Ball is coming soon.
GUILD GIFT BOUTIQUE
In December each year, the Guild sponsors and staffs the Gift Boutique during Kansas City Ballet’s Nutcracker performance run at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. We sell traditional and whimsical Nutcrackers, ballet and Nutcracker-themed ornaments and other Nutcracker-inspired items. Net proceeds go to the Kansas City Ballet.

The Ballet Guild is still planning an eventful year. However, bowing to necessity, the 2020-2021 fall season will be very different from before. Mainly, most of our meetings and events will be held online. As the year progresses and the threat of Covid-19 recedes, we expect to add some “in-person” events (like luncheons!) to our spring calendar.
· Guild Meetings will be held via zoom. As always, they will be fun, educational and efficient.
· Our amazingly successful Book Club will continue via zoom. It’s “BYOB” – bring your own book (or bottle!)
