Kansas City Ballet Company Auditions

Audition for KC Ballet

Kansas City Ballet’s main company employs 30 dancers under the direction of Devon Carney.

Mr. Carney is creating a sophisticated, diverse repertory that offers powerful entertainment for all audiences. This is accomplished through commissioning new works by some of today’s most sought-after choreographers, giving rise to young talent, acquiring existing works by master choreographers, and introducing new interpretations of classic full-length productions.

Dancers rehearse in Kansas City Ballet’s seven-studio home, the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity, in downtown Kansas City.

KCB is an AGMA company. The season is three productions plus The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, and New Moves at the Bolender Center. Repertory List

As of February 1, 2022, to attend an audition at San Francisco Ballet:

All attendees must be fully vaccinated and “Boosted” if eligible. Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks from the second shot of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or the first shot of the J&J vaccine, and (if more than 6 months ago) one week after the booster shot.

Attendees must wear a well-fitted surgical, KN95, or N95 face covering at all times in San Francisco Ballet. Cloth masks are not permitted. They will have disposable surgical face masks available for those that arrive without one of these mask types.

Only the attendee of the audition will be permitted inside the building to reduce crowding. With pre-registration, SFB is hoping there will not be a need for parents or guardians to accompany attendees into the registration process. If there is a legitimate accessibility concern or accommodation needed, SFB will permit one companion in with the attendee, provided they also meet the vaccination requirements, for the registration process only. Parents and guardians should expect to wait outside or return near the end of the session.
