The Kansas City Ballet School’s Junior Summer Intensive is specifically designed with the young dancer in mind. This three-week program offers students a rigorous and comprehensive study of ballet technique and exposure to a broad variety of dance styles. All curriculum in this program is presented in a nurturing and positive environment at Kansas City Ballet School’s South Campus at Meadowbrook. Students will experience a truly unique program working with members of the Kansas City Ballet’s artistic staff and school faculty.

Important Dates
December 2, 2024 – Pre-registration for JSI audition opens
January 19, 2025 – JSI Audition
February 14, 2025 – Financial aid applications and video auditions due
March 17, 2025 – Registration and deposit due
April 7, 2025 – JSI t-shirt orders due
May 5, 2025 – Tuition balance due
June 2, 2025 – First day of the JSI
June 20, 2025 – Last day of the JSI
Invited students must secure their spot in the program by March 17, 2025.
Curriculum
All dancers will attend class Monday through Friday, 9:00AM-4:00PM. Students will be divided into three levels for classes.

Dormitory housing is not provided for Junior Summer Intensive students.

Will there be a performance?
Students will showcase their progress in an informal demonstration on Friday, June 20. This performance will take place at KCB’s Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity. More information is available in the JSI Info Packet.
Audition Information
The JSI audition will be held at KCB’s Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity.
