Summer Dance Training in Kansas City
Join us for an enriching and educational ballet experience this Summer!
Students participating in our Summer & Fall Prep programs will be challenged and supported in classes with our outstanding faculty. Classes are available each summer at our Bolender Center campus. KCBS students in Level 4, Secondary, and Pre-Professional divisions are eligible for our Summer & Fall Prep classes. Dancers who have been accepted into our 2024 Summer Intensive are also eligible to join our Summer & Fall Prep classes. Placement is required for new students.
Dress Code
Female Identifying Students
- Uniform Sophia Elevé leotard; this leotard should be worn for performances, evaluations, and KCB auditions.
- Additional black leotards in Bloch style #L4255
- “Ballet Pink” color Body Wrappers Total Stretch Mesh Seamed Convertible Tights
- “Black” color Body Wrappers Total Stretch Mesh Seamed Convertible Tights
- Light pink canvas split sole ballet shoes and sewn pointe shoes
- Optional flesh toned tights and shoes for ballet and pointe classes
- Dancers are not to wear undergarments under their leotard and tights. If a dancer needs to wear undergarments, we ask that it be easily concealed by their leotard.
- Tan slip-on jazz shoes
- Uniform Black Elevé Tulip skirt – for pointe class only
- Blue Thera-band and Yoga Mat for Conditioning
- Hair pulled back neatly and secure in a ballet appropriate hairstyle with no accessories
- No jewelry, accessories, warm ups or watches. Stud earrings are allowed.
Male Identifying Students
- Uniform KCBS Elevé white t-shirt; this shirt should be worn for performances, evaluations, and KCB auditions
- Black M Stevens or Body Wrappers tights
- Dance belt
- Black ballet shoes
- Black slip-on Jazz Shoes
- Blue Thera-band and Yoga Mat for Conditioning
- Hair should be styled neatly and kept out of the face
- No jewelry, accessories, warm ups or watches. Stud earrings are allowed.
