THE PERFORMING ENSEMBLE OF THE KCBS
WHAT
The focus of the KCYB is on excellence in training and developing a pre-professional performance atmosphere for the dancers. KCYB is made up of dancers ranging in age from 15-19, who study under Director Kimberly Cowen, Associate Director Dmitry Trubchanov and the faculty of the Kansas City Ballet School. The company presents two major performances each season. KCYB performances feature works from the classical ballet repertory as well as showcasing many original works by local choreographers of varying disciplines.
WHO
KCYB is comprised of students enrolled or enrolling in Kansas City Ballet School’s Pre-Professional Division by invitation only. There are a limited number of positions available.
IMPORTANT DATES
KCYB begins each year on the first day of the school year and ends with the Spring Performance.
REHEARSALS
Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm
Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm
Saturdays 12:00-4:00pm

April 4 – 6, 2025
COST
There is an annual fee of $800.00 to participate in KCYB in addition to Academy tuition.
