For Kansas City Ballet dancers, that excitement is grounded in something very tangible: stepping into the right pair of pointe shoes.🩰 Gillian Yoder has been a Company Dancer at Kansas City Ballet since 2024. Her featured roles include Caili Quan’s A Home Away and Amor in Anna-Marie Holmes’ Don Quixote. “A reliable pair of pointe shoes makes all the difference. Dan surprised his wife Dana with tickets to see The Great Gatsby for Mother’s Day. She’s seen several ballets in the past, including The Nutcracker, and always loved it. This was Dan’s first time going to the ballet.✨👏🏻 "My wife won the VanBrock jewelry because of the sticker on the back of the program, and everyone involved in that experience were lovely to deal with. Kelly met with us, along with Artistic Director Devon Carney. The necklace is beautiful and the entire experience just made the day wonderful for my wife. Aside from the fact that the show was outstanding Thank you very much!"💬 Dan says. 🥂Congrats to Dan and Dana! 💍VanBrock necklace giveaways will continue at this weekend’s performances!

Under the direction of School Director Oliver Till, the School offers a complete, professional curriculum for our Academy students. With locations in downtown Kansas City and Johnson County, the School maintains a faculty of over 50 instructors. The School’s Open Division attracts teens and adults who wish to pursue recreational dance instruction in a supportive and encouraging setting.

Founded in 1957, Kansas City Ballet is a 30-member professional ballet company under the direction of Artistic Director Devon Carney and Executive Director David Gray.

Through its professional company, its second company (comprised of KCB II and Trainees), its ballet school, and its many community programs, Kansas City Ballet seeks to nurture and develop our artists, audiences, and students in the values inherent in the creativity, diversity, and joy of dance.
