Noura Sander

Noura Sander, from Northern California, started training at age 8 at Franklin School for the Performing Arts after moving to Massachusetts. She trained there for seven years under Cheryl Madeux-Abbott. Sander attended summer programs at The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, American Ballet Theater and The Washington Ballet. She was accepted into ABT’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York City, where she studied from 2016-17 under Karin Averty and Fabrice Herrault. She joined The Washington School of Ballet’s professional training division in 2017 under the instruction of Xiomara Reyes and Rinat Imaev and was promoted to trainee the following year. 

Sander was hired into The Washington Ballet Studio Company for the 2021-22 season and promoted to main company in November 2022. During her time at The Washington Ballet, she performed roles in Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, Giselle, Julie Kent and Victor Barbee’s Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Concerto Barocco, Theme and Variations and Violin Concerto, Choo San Goh’s Fives, Ulysses Dove’s Vespers and Edwaard Liang’s Alice in Wonderland. Sander also had the opportunity to work with and perform pieces by choreographers including Jessica Lang, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Silas Farley, Brett Ishida, Andile Ndlovu, Mthuthuzeli November, Edwaard Liang, Dana Genshaft, and Chanel DaSilva. 

Sander joined Kansas City Ballet for the 2025-26 season and performed in Devon Carney’s Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, new works by Duncan Cooper and Amira Hogan, and Caili Quan’s world premiere A Home Away.
