Maura Moody

Maura Moody, from Des Moines, Iowa, began her formal ballet training at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance under the direction of Serkan Usta and Lori Grooters. Moody spent her summers training at San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet and Tulsa Ballet. She began her professional ballet journey in 2019 at Richmond Ballet, where she spent two years as a trainee. Following her time in Richmond, Moody joined Oklahoma City Ballet in 2021 as a second company member until being promoted to apprentice in 2023. 

Moody’s favorite repertoire includes Devin Carney’s Swan Lake as Neapolitan and the Act 1 Pas De Trois, George Balanchine’s Second Variation in Divertimento No. 15 and Stars and Stripes, Gerald Arpino’s Bourrée Girl Soloist in Birthday Variations, Alexander Ekman’s Cacti, and a Willi in Giselle. Moody has also performed in Ma Cong’s Information and Luscious.

Maura is very excited and honored to be back for a second season with Kansas City Ballet!
