Kansas City Ballet has been diligently monitoring the information coming out of CDC, WHO, city and state health agencies, as well as the national/international dance community regarding responses to the global pandemic, referred to as coronavirus (COVID-19).
The safety of our patrons, students, dancers, staff, and stakeholders is of the utmost importance to us.
Thus far we have encouraged basic guidelines coming from many health agencies in terms of the importance of increased personal hygiene, consulting with health care professionals, self-monitoring, as well as increased efforts concerning regular cleaning and sanitizing of our Todd Bolender Center and Johnson County campuses.
All Kansas City Ballet School classes and Family Watch have been canceled on Saturday, March 14 (both campuses). We understand that it is disappointing to miss the opportunity to see your child in class, and we will designate another weekend for you to come and observe.
Kansas City Ballet School Spring Break is scheduled beginning March 15 – March 22. As of today, classes will resume on March 23. In the event of further updates, we will notify all parents and students by email, website posting, or phone.
Under the authority of the March 12, 2020 proclamation by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, all events with more than 1,000 attendees within the city are canceled or delayed for 21 days or until the emergency has been lifted.
As of today, NEW MOVES opening March 26 in the Bolender Center’s 183-seat Michael & Ginger Frost Studio Theater is scheduled to occur as planned. For questions about your tickets, please call 816.931.8993.
Also, Kansas City Ballet’s May production of Celts at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will go on as scheduled.

Kansas City Ballet Box Office, kcballet.org, and the Kauffman Center Box Office, kauffmancenter.org, are the only official ticket sellers for Kansas City Ballet performances. Both sites offer the same accurate prices and fees.
If you have purchased through a ticket reseller website, you are likely paying up to 15 times the actual ticket price. Your ticket and seating location might also not be valid, and Kansas City Ballet and the Kauffman Center can’t guarantee entry to the event.
Kansas City Ballet and the Kauffman Center can’t offer a refund for tickets purchased from an unauthorized reseller. To request a refund, you may be able to refute the purchase with the original seller or your credit card company.
KANSAS CITY BALLET SELDOM CANCELS PERFORMANCES DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
An exception to this is an official city-wide emergency that requires citizens not be on the streets. On the unlikely chance that Kansas City Ballet cancels a performance, such cancellation will be announced at least 2 hours before the scheduled start of the show. The means of communication will include radio and television announcements as possible, email notices to the patron email we have on record, announcements on our website and voice mail message at our Box Office number (816.931.8993).
Patrons should always assume the performance will proceed. Do not call or contact the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts; the center is our leased venue and may not have current information to advise you regarding the Ballet’s schedule.
Kansas City Ballet believes that patrons should use their best judgment regarding travel to and from Kansas City Ballet events and always place their safety as the first and highest priority.
If Kansas City Ballet performs as scheduled, best efforts may be made to accommodate those patrons unable to attend the performance by offering them the option of moving to another future performance of the same production (exchange fees will apply). We cannot guarantee seating in this case, especially if the weather event occurs near the close of a production run. Call the Box Office 816.931.8993 during regular business hours to discuss options.
Kansas City Ballet does not refund the purchase price of tickets if the performance has occurred.
In the rare occurrence that Kansas City Ballet cancels a performance due to weather or other emergency, Kansas City Ballet will promptly refund the cost of the ticket(s) but will not be responsible for any “third party” costs such as the facility fees or parking fees, both of which are “pass-through” fees and are not retained by Kansas City Ballet.
Tickets purchased through a reseller will not be refunded. Contact them to inquire about obtaining a refund.

Depending on the method of delivery you choose, you will get the parking passes prior to the performance. If you purchase parking the week of the performance, you can opt to have your parking vouchers sent via eTicket, or your vouchers will be available at Kansas City Ballet’s box office during hours throughout the week, or will be held at the Kauffman Center Box Office 90 minutes prior to the show. We advise you to use the drop off lane on the south side of the Kauffman Center to obtain your parking vouchers from Will Call, then park in the Arts District Parking Garage.

Kansas City Ballet does not make charitable contributions of either tickets or classes. As a non-profit organization ourselves, we understand the importance of fundraising and wish you the best with your event. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Kansas City Ballet.
We do, however, provide opportunities for your school or organization to fund raise. Fundraising partners can advertise The Nutcracker and a percentage of each ticket sold will support your organization.
No worries, we have you covered. Call our box office at 816.931.8993 and we can mail you new tickets or email you eTickets, or come to your performance and we will print new tickets up to 90 minutes prior to the performance.
If you haven’t yet entered your payment, simply try again. If you entered your credit card number, but did not receive a confirmation page or email, it’s best to email us or phone us at 816.931.8993.
All patrons, including children on laps, entering the theater must have a ticket. At Kansas City Ballet, we encourage young audiences to attend our shows (assuming the program content is appropriate). However, it is strongly suggested that no babies or toddlers be in attendance. Many children over the age of five can remain happily and quietly seated for a two-hour performance, but you know your child best. Parents will be expected to immediately remove children creating a disturbance during the performance.
Tickets aren’t issued for student matinees. Seats are assigned to your school and are seated by Kauffman Center ushers based on a prepared seating chart.
We begin accepting reservations for all student matinees in the upcoming season in late April/early May. There is a minimum of 10 seats per reservation for all schools.
Under Community Engagement and Education, you will find a link for Educational Performances which provides all the information on matinees for schools. Choose the matinee and download the order form. Directions on how to send it are located on the form. Once we receive the order form, an invoice will be sent to you. To finalize and secure your seats, a 20% deposit is required.
All ticket holders can arrive early for The Belger Footnotes with Artistic Director, Devon Carney. These 30 minute talks held one hour before performances (excluding The Nutcracker) are interesting and informative talks that take place in the Muriel Kauffman Theatre. Hosted by Artistic Director Devon Carney and often featuring guest artists, these talks provide information that will help you better understand and appreciate the program you’re about to watch.

The deposit can be paid by check, or by credit card by phone to 816-216-5609. The remaining balance is due on or before three weeks before the performance. The preferred payment of balance is by check.
