Maura Moody

Joined KCB in 2025

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Maura Moody began her formal ballet training at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance under the direction of Serkan Usta and Lori Grooters. Moody spent her summers training at San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet. She started her professional ballet journey in 2019 at Richmond Ballet where she spent two years as a trainee. Following her time in Richmond, Moody joined Oklahoma City Ballet in 2021 as a second company member until she was promoted to apprentice in 2023.

Moody’s favorite repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Second Variation in Divertimento No. 15 and Western Symphony, Gerald Arpino’s Bourree Girl Soloist in Birthday Variations, Alexander Ekman’s Cacti, and Oklahoma City Ballet’s Swan Lake as Big Swan and Spanish as well as a Willi in Giselle. Moody has also performed in Ma Cong’s Information and Luscious.

Moody is very excited and honored to be joining Kansas City Ballet this season!
