Anna Hughlett

Ballet

Arianna “Anna” Hughlett is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer from Kansas City, Missouri. She began her training at Kansas City Ballet School and received additional formative training at Kansas School of Classical Ballet, during which time she won 1st Place at the Youth America Grand Prix Kansas City semi-final and competed in the YAGP New York City Finals. She attended summer programs at The Royal Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, and others.

In 2019, she moved to Boston to study at Boston Ballet School as a Trainee under the direction of Margaret Tracey and joined the Graduate Program a season later. During her three years in Boston, Anna performed in multiple Company productions, including Swan Lake and Balanchine’s Chaconne. She danced featured roles in Boston Ballet II performances, including works by Balanchine, Petipa, Jorma Elo, and Mikko Nissinen. She later danced professionally with Grand Rapids Ballet for the 2022-2023 season and in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s The Nutcracker in 2023 and 2024.

Anna has choreographed new works for Boston Ballet II, Grand Rapids Ballet, Azara Ballet, Creative Intersections with Owen Cox Dance Group, and more. She continues to create work in Kansas City for her ensemble Flux & Pointe, which she co-founded with artist Kelley Gant in 2024. She is currently a Studio Resident at Charlotte Street Foundation.
