Our dancers aren’t the only artists that bring music to life in our studios and on stage. Behind the piano during company, academy, and summer intensive classes, you’ll find incredibly talented members of the Kansas City Ballet community.
One such pianist is Samuel Beckett, who has not only played accompaniment for our students, but also performed a solo for the company’s performance of The Four Temperaments this past spring, among other various company productions.
But beyond the time he spends at the Bolender Center, Beckett has been playing a hand in the sounds of Kansas City for years, voicing and composing familiar radio and TV jingles, to accompanying the Paseo Academy of Fine and Performance Arts’ Ballet Department and with the Lyric Opera Education Office. He even led the crowds of Royals fans at Kauffman Stadium in traditional jaunts on the organ!
Beckett is one of many musicians that have struck a chord with our dancers, teachers, and audiences alike. Creating a wonderful work environment, on any given day, beautiful sounds from the piano will resonate through the hallways of Kansas City Ballet.
