Uniforms
As you know, we have been thoughtfully exploring a review of our uniforms. This effort stems from a desire to foster greater cohesiveness across our student body, to help students feel positive and confident in themselves, and to align with the ongoing development and progress of our curriculum.
I’m pleased to share that starting with the 2025–2026 school year, Elevé Dancewear will be the exclusive uniform provider for Levels 1 through Pre-Professional and Daytime IV. For our lower levels, we’ve selected an option from Bloch dancewear—an accessible choice that introduces the color palette used throughout the rest of the Academy.
For students on the male track, updates will include adjustments to tights and shorts, new color options, and a reaffirmed move to white socks and shoes for a cohesive, professional appearance.
We recognize that changing uniforms can be an adjustment for both students and families. However, we believe that by moving exclusively to Elevé, our dancers will benefit from the exceptional quality of their garments, helping them feel confident and comfortable in the studio. At the same time, thoughtful pricing and accessible options will help families make this transition with ease.
We will be sharing photos of the uniform options soon. For now, I’m excited to share the color theme guiding the new selections:
-
Three core colors—pink, blue, and purple—repeated across the lower, middle, and upper levels of the Academy.
-
Each section of the Academy will have uniform details tailored to their curriculum and developmental stage.
-
Uniform colors will be worn for two consecutive years, minimizing frequent changes as students progress.
We are excited for the unity, professionalism, and confidence this update will bring to our Academy.
More details coming soon!
Female Track Uniform updates
This change means that from Dance with Me through Level 3, there will now be one required uniform—alternatives will no longer be accepted.
For Levels 4 and above, dancers in the female track will continue to have one designated “performance uniform”leotard, as we did this past year, which will be used for on-stage and other performance opportunities.
What’s new for the coming year is that there will now be two additional Elevé leotard options available for daily class wear. While Elevé will be the exclusive brand for these levels, dancers will now have three total leotard options to choose from for their regular classes, offering both consistency and flexibility.
Male Track Uniform updates
-
Creative Movement through Level 3 will wear white semi-fitted t-shirts, long shorts, white ankle socks, and white shoes.
-
Level 4 and above will be in long grey footless tights, paired with white ankle socks and white shoes.
Pricing
We have worked closely with Elevé to reduce the cost of leotards for all students who require them. While specific pricing will be announced soon, I’m pleased to share that the cost per leotard has been reduced by nearly $8 compared to this past year’s pricing.
In conjunction with this pricing, one uniform leotard will be included with each registration fee for Levels 1 and above. While there will be a small increase in the registration fee, it will not cover the full cost of the leotard—the school is covering the remainder of that cost.
Portal
Elevé will also be introducing a dedicated online portal where families can purchase any additional uniform items they may need. As many of you know, Elevé also offers customization options, and through this portal, you’ll be able to communicate with their team directly for any specific needs or questions.
Introducing skirts
For students in the female track, color-matched mesh skirts will now be a required part of the uniform for end-of-year performances (Levels 1 and above). Additionally, for those taking pointe classes, these skirts will be required attire when needed during the school year.
These skirts will be worn as part of the uniform costume for our performances at both the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts at the conclusion of the year.
Unfortunately, we are unable to include the skirts in the registration fee this year.
PTA and swaps
Looking ahead, it is my hope that in the not-too-distant future, we will have an active PTA whose efforts could include organizing events like a uniform swap day. This would give families the opportunity to exchange gently used uniforms with others who are advancing to new levels—helping to reduce waste and save money in the process. While this won’t be possible for the upcoming year, I’m optimistic that we can launch something like this by Spring 2026.
More information on colors, the Elevé portal, and pricing will be shared as soon as possible.
Speaking of the PTA—if you are interested in helping form a PTA here at the school, please share your name and contact information using this form. As we move closer to forming this group, we’ll continue to build our contact list to ensure anyone interested stays informed and involved.
