The Kansas City Ballet Guild is a group of 200 members who serve as advocates for dance and ballet in the Kansas City community. We provide financial assistance to the Kansas City Ballet through the Nutcracker Boutique, the Annual Ball, and other special events.
Kansas City Ballet has always relied upon the generosity of the Guild’s membership and their commitment to the arts in Kansas City.
Membership Levels
- $65 Guild Member
- $165 Guild Relevé Member
Member level Guild dues allow us to conduct standard Guild business. Relevé level dues allow us to do some extra special things for company dancers such as sponsoring their attendance at Guild events and providing them holiday gifts. Relevé members receive special recognition online and in our directory. They also have access to a special Bolender Center tour with the opportunity to watch classes and a rehearsal. Please consider upgrading to the Relevé level when renewing. It will allow us to do even more for our wonderful Kansas City Ballet.
Guild members enjoy special presentations from guest choreographers, stagers, musicians, dancers, and the wonderful Kansas City Ballet staff. Presentations include educational programs on what it takes to operate a 21st century dance organization, exclusive “behind the scenes” looks at upcoming performances, and access to special pre-performance “open rehearsals.” We meet and socialize with monthly membership meetings, a Kick Off Party, three fabulous annual luncheons (Fall, Nutcracker and Spring Celebration) and at special events such as cast parties, book clubs, and movie nights. We also support and maintain the Kansas City Ballet Archives. And of course, all members are encouraged to be Kansas City Ballet season subscribers and to attend the annual Guild Ballet Ball.

Fundraising
The Guild sponsors two major fundraising events for the Kansas City Ballet each season – an annual Ballet Ball and a Gift Boutique at the Kauffman Center. The Guild raised $375,000 for the Kansas City Ballet in 2021-22.
NUTCRACKER BALL

GUILD GIFT BOUTIQUE
In December each year, the Guild sponsors and staffs the Gift Boutique during Kansas City Ballet’s Nutcracker performance run at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. We sell traditional and whimsical Nutcrackers, ballet and Nutcracker-themed ornaments and other Nutcracker-inspired items. Net proceeds go to the Kansas City Ballet.
Upcoming 2022-2023 Events
The Ballet Guild is planning a full year of fun-filled activities and programs for its members to enjoy. All of our meetings will be at the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity or the home of a member. Our Book Club and Movie Nights are back in full swing with lots of great topics to peak your interest.
