Tara Burgat

Tara is a freelance choreographer, performance maker, and movement specialist in various realms of performance art, such as dance, theatre, film, and life’s biggest celebrations. She is an award-winning choreographer bridging her eye for movement into her imaginative theatre directing style. As an educator and a creative, she relishes the opportunity to build students and performers up to be bold, artistic, and playfully communicative of the story at play. Tara has performed with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, the University of Kansas, City In Motion, That’s Entertainment, Point B Dance Company, and others. Her choreographic work has been featured in regional theaters such as Theatre in the Park, The White Theatre, The University of Kansas, and more. Above all, her biggest emphasis in any style is the ability to connect the audience to the story at hand. In all realms of work, she happily supports performers of all abilities. Beyond her work, her greatest joys include her husband and two imaginative children!
