Kim Trudell

Ballet/Pilates

Kim is the Partnership Specialist for Kansas City Ballet, where she leads initiatives that make dance accessible to all of us. This includes Matinees for Schools, Sensory-Friendly Performances, and developing new programs and partnerships to connect the Ballet with our community. She is also on faculty at KCBS, specializing in professional development for the Children’s Division. Additionally, she teaches Pilates Reformer/conditioning: she trained through Polestar Pilates and DK Body Balance and was a certified fitness professional through the American Council on Exercise for 20 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Louisiana Tech University where she trained in dance under Dianne Maroney-Grigsby. Additionally, she holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and trained as a dance educator with Luna Dance Institute (Berkeley, CA) on scholarship. She began her career as a dance educator in 2006 with KCB and became Founding Coordinator of Adaptive Dance in 2015. In 2017, she founded a nonprofit to provide trauma-informed creative dance in collaboration with local organizations and has also offered her expertise on faculty at Providence School of Arts and The Barstow School. Kim is passionate about creating meaningful moments and connections through the joy of dance!
