Joshua Kiesel, a Chicago native, joined Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company as a member of KCB II this season. He’s enjoying exploring KC with friends and eating delicious food.
Q: TELL US WHY YOU BECAME A DANCER.
A: I started dancing at the age of 5 after watching my sisters practice in our living room.
Q: IS THERE SOMEONE SPECIFIC THAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND/OR CAREER?
A: Mikhail Baryshnikov inspires me not only technically but artistically. The way he was able to make the audience feel a certain way is incredible.
Q: WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT THE 2019-20 KCB SEASON?
A: I’m excited to be able to give back to the community by performing throughout the area.
Q: HOW DO YOU STAY FIT AND HEALTHY OUTSIDE OF THE STUDIO?
A: I ride my bike basically everywhere I need to go and I always work out when I get home from the studio.
