Courtney Davis

Ballet

Courtney grew up in Kansas City training at Someset Ballet under the direction of Jane Pierce. Her teachers included Peggy Ply, Kimberly Cowen, Maura Landers and Debbie Jacobs. She spent her summers studying at Ballet Met, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, The HaridConservatory, Ballet Austin and Charleston Ballet Theater. She attended the year round program at The Harid Concervatory during her Junior year of high school and studied under Olivier Pardina, Svetlana Osiyeva and Victoria Schneider. Her senior year she stayed in Kansas City and studied at the Kansas City ballet and was a student apprentice with the company and got to perform Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and Carmina Burana with the company. After graduating high school she studied as a trainee at Ballet Austin and got to train with Truman Finney, Lynne Short, Stephen Mills and Michelle Martin. She spent the next two years dancing with Charleston Ballet Theater under the direction of Jill Bahr and Patrica Cantwell. She got to perform The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Copelia, The Nutcracker, Serenade, A Street Car named Desire, and a soloist in a piece Off the Cuff choreographed by Jonathan Tabbert. She is thrilled to be back in Kansas City and working at the Kansas City Ballet.
