Step into a world of pure magic at the historic Muehlebach Tower, transformed into an enchanting holiday wonderland inspired by The Nutcracker. This year’s theme “Clara’s Dream” brings the beloved Battle Scene to life — toys rising up to protect Clara from the Mouse King.
The magic begins with dance lessons, holiday crafts, games, face painting, a dress-up station featuring genuine Kansas City Ballet costumes, and a complimentary photo with the Sugar Plum Fairy. Inside the Imperial Ballroom, enjoy a short Kansas City Ballet School performance — a taste of the Nutcracker Suite brought to life with live narration weaving story and dance into a magical storytime moment. After a three-course luncheon, little ones and budding dancers take to the floor alongside Kansas City Ballet School students for an open dance celebration.
All proceeds benefit Kansas City Ballet School to help make the joy of dance accessible to all.

Your ticket purchase includes a special discount for select performances of The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Please note that this year’s Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball ticket does not include a matinee performance of The Nutcracker.
