Mr. King set his work to several sections from Handel’s concerti grossi, which were a vital aspect of musical life in the early eighteenth century and represent the peak of Baroque orchestral music. Extraordinary melodic beauty, boldness, and humor all play a part in Handel’s originality of invention.
