Artistic Director William Whitener and State Ballet of Missouri joined with American Repertory Ballet (New Brunswick, New Jersey), Atlanta Ballet, and Dayton Ballet to commission the creation of Gloria by choreographer Lila York.
The choreographer chose to create a sacred piece in contemporary way that is relevant to real life. York’s idea for the ballet was inspired by her mother, a calm center for a family of rather complex adult children.
