Carmina Burana is a deeply personal work that deals with the subjects of love, family and the temporary nature of everything. Carl Orff’s magnificent score overflows with so much joy, beauty and intensity it is easy to understand why it has become a staple of orchestras and ballet companies alike. My hope was to find a new interpretation of the music that allows the viewer to see it with fresh eyes. Throughout the entire creative process I always felt the music was leading me along, telling me where I needed to go. It has been an exercise in patience and trusting my intuition.
