Tamara Carson

Flamenco

A graduate with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dance Division & L’Academia del Arte-Barcelona, Spain. Tamara was Artist-in-Residence for the University of Kansas and the Leavenworth public school system, as well as a faculty member of the Conservatory of Music UMKC 1994-2000. She is delighted to be on faculty for the KCBS Academic program, Studio Classes and Summer Intensive programs since 2004. Her performance resume includes work with the Frankfurt Opera of Germany, the Kansas City Lyric Opera, Salina Symphony and Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City & St Louis Guitar Societies and numerous festivals. She’s worked for decades throughout the region as a pioneer in bringing flamenco and Spanish dance to this area. Because of her experience as an educator and working artist, she was appointed to the Missouri Arts Council from 1994 to 1999. Tamara is currently on the Missouri Arts Council Touring Artist Roster with Ole’ Music and Dance of Spain, she performs as a guest artist with Ron Radford’s Viva Flamenco!, Las Tres Gitanas, Alma Flamenca & De Los Barrios and is the Director of Ole’ Music and Dance of Spain.
