Sidney Haefs began her classical ballet training at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy at the age of 3 ½. She holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 with Distinction. In the spring of 2018, Sidney graduated from the University of Utah Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Ballet as well as a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. In addition, she completed courses pertaining to ballet pedagogy, ballet history, kinesiology, music for the ballet class, and human development. Sidney also performed in many productions during her time at the University. These include, the lead in Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, Ilya Kozadayev’s Harmonic Inspirations, Melissa Bobik’s Legacy, and the lead of The Black Swan in the University of Utah’s Production of Swan Lake Act III. She has also performed in Bournonville’s Le Conservatoriate, as well as Val Caniparoli’s She’s So Fine pas de deux. Sidney has also attended various summer programs including American Ballet Theatre in Irvine, Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program, Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and The University of Utah SI. Sidney is currently a trainee with the Kansas City Ballet for the 2018/19 season.
