Sam Beckett enjoys putting his B.S. in Theory/Composition and Piano Performance from William Jewell College (’87) to good use as Adjunct Music Theory Instructor at Penn Valley College in Midtown, and in recent performances as a featured soloist with the Kansas City Ballet (Triple Play/Poulenc; Allegro Brilliante/Tchaikovsky-Oct ‘13; Wunderland/Glass; and The Four Temperaments/Hindemith-May ‘15). This year will be his 2ndyear to play on a regular basis for KCB II classes, which this year broadens into classes for Trainees. Piano tuning, studio work, church performances (featuring his own compositions and arrangements performed alongside family members), private lessons, ROAD (Reach Out And Dance) classes, and playing in the Penn Valley Community College Jazz Band (on trumpet!) round out his schedule. As always, his association with KCB is one of great pride.
