Dancer Profile: Tempe Ostergren

Company Dancer Tempe Ostergren has danced for Kansas City Ballet for eight seasons.

Q: HOW DID YOU BECOME A DANCER? AND WHEN DID YOU START DANCING?

A: I started dancing around age 7 at Princeton Ballet after I saw Nutcracker.

Q: what do you enjoy most about being a dancer?

A: The physicality and drama. Moving my muscles to music. Feeling my body come alive.

Q: Do you have hobbies or special interests? If so, what are they and what do you enjoy about them?

A: Gardening. Going to the symphony. Being peaceful, relaxing, and getting into nature.

Q: what is something most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I’m working on my undergrad through Harvard Extension School.
