Studio Classes

Courses & Workshops
These classes are organized into 4 to 6-week sessions at a set cost with a particular number of participants and a guaranteed place in class. Register today in the Schools Office (816-931-2299).

DRESS CODE: There is no formal dress code but please do not wear anything excessively baggy. Workout attire is recommended, such as leggings, yoga pants, and t-shirts. Ballet slippers are required for ballet classes and tap shoes for tap classes. If you are interested in purchasing dance apparel, there is a boutique at the Bolender Center campus providing a number of dance items. Other recommended stores are listed HERE.

Learn the basic fundamentals of swing. Students who take this 4-week course
will feel confident taking a spin on the dancefloor.

This class will consist of a cardio hip hop warm up, stretching and conditioning, and choreography from different hip hop styles.

This workshop is designed for those with no ballet experience.  Students will learn basic ballet technique in a fun and positive environment.

Photographer Brett Pruitt & East Market Studios.Pilates Reformer (by appointment)
This class is limited to 5 participants and is performed on the Pilates Reformer apparatus.  Expect to strengthen your entire body through a system that produces long, lean, flexible muscles.  Your posture will be taken to a new level.  The spring system on the Reformer allows challenge to be added or subtracted as you improve and progress.  The Reformer is both harder and easier than a Mat class, in that it creates resistance while providing assistance to your movements.  Try this class out to achieve a ‘Pilates body’ which is similar to the appearance of a dancer’s body!

Choose from set times per week (min. of 3 students per class and a max of 5). You must reserve your spot at least 24 hours in advance. Price is $25 per student.

Private Pilates (Reformer) classes must be scheduled and paid in full at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations required 24 hours in advance to avoid charges.  Payment is assessed per hour based on number of students in class: 1 student $60, 2 students $45 each, 3 students $35 each, 4 students $25 each.
